Jan. 1948 Obtained approval of the Ministry of Transport to establish a juridical foundation based on Article 34 of the Civil Code of Japan.
Feb. Kentei Shin Nippon Sha, a juridical foundation, was founded as a public service organization for carrying on marine survey and measuring business with the head office at Tokyo and branches at Yokohama and Kobe.
May. 1963 Obtained licence as a survey / measuring organization based on the Harbor Transportation Business Law.
Nov. 1977 Altered the name to Shin Nihon Kentei Kyokai.
Apr. 1987 Designated by Maritime Safety Agency as an organization to confirm pre-discharge safening treatment of hazardous liquid in accordance with the Marine Pollution and Disaster Prevention Law.
Sep. 1994 Licensed by the Ministry of Health and Welfare for laboratory test and analysis of foods.
Dec. 1995 Obtained ISO 9002 certificate for Central Research Laboratory
(subsequently for most of the other offices).
Apr. 1996 Designated by the Minister of International Trade and Industry for laboratory test and analysis of petroleum products under the Law on the Quality Control of Gasoline and Other Fuels.
Apr. 2001 Designated by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries for inspection of rice, wheat, barley and rye based on the Agricultural Products Law.
Aug. 2001 Introduced a division system by giving operational independence to regional offices (for which appellations of branches and sub-branches were abolished).
Dec. 2002 Entered into a collaboration agreement with SGS.
June. 2004 Permitted to engage in the appraisal of foreign properties invested in China by State General Administration of the People’s Republic of China for Quality Supervision and Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ)
July. 2005 Registered by the Minister of Land Infrastructure and Transport for inspection on packing of dangerous goods into container on the Ship Safety Law.
